A month ago, we went on our annual Pittsburgh trip to see a Pirates game and to go to Steelers training camp. While walking through a Wal-Mart in Latrobe, Pennsylvania (which is where their camp is) I met a women who is a Steelers media rep. Being the Steelers geek that I am I knew who she was and introduced myself; she gave us all field passes for the Steelers camp. The photo above is of Ben Roethlisburger and was taken by my wife as we were five feet from him!
These tickets were 2 years ago at the Steelers pre-season opener against the Detroit Lions. Heinz Field sells out at around 67,000. The Steelers had 57,000 in attendance, for a pre-season game that is packed! With one and a half minutes left in the first half, a terrible storm rolled in, causing a two hour weather delay, which chased away a lot of fans.....see below. For you fans of the movie 'Twilight' (I'd rather remove my own eyes than watch one) Taylor Lautner was at this game....team Jacob.
Finally, one of my daughter holding one of our THOUSANDS of terrible towels, but our only black one; new that night!
